Christmas is only a couple of weeks away and for those of you who like to make your own festive treats to eat, the Shelfstore team have put together some ideas to help you create some delicious delights and have fun too!
Spice things up!
Why not get your kids involved in a gingerbread baking challenge? They could make gingerbread cookies and then decorate them with icing and sweets – it’ll keep them occupied for hours! If you have older kids around who like to get creative in the kitchen you could set them the challenge of baking and making a gingerbread house, which would be a fabulous centrepiece!
It’s never too late to bake a cake!
Don’t despair if you’ve not yet baked your Christmas cake, there are plenty of recipes that don’t need you to have started preparing the ingredients weeks ago. That means you can still have fun decorating your Christmas cake with whatever theme you like – from simple to traditional to the spectacular!
Yule love this!
Not everyone is a fan of Christmas pudding and mince pies when it comes to Christmas desserts, but most are fans of chocolate, so a yummy alternative to the traditional pudding served on Christmas Day is a slice of Yule log. A thin layer of chocolate sponge rolled up with chocolate buttercream icing inside and out, and artfully finished off to create the look of bark with a sprinkling of icing sugar for ‘snow’ – what’s not to love!
Of course with all the food and ingredients we buy for Christmas, it can be difficult to find enough storage for it all, although those who are fortunate enough to have space for a pantry may not find it such a challenge. All you need are plenty of shelves and good organising skills!
If you’d like to find a shelving solution to give you extra storage you need this Christmas, take a look at the Shelfstore website. Shelfstore’s flexible and multipurpose system of shelving is the perfect solution for storing any number of things and can be easily designed to fit any space, no matter what the shape or size.
If we have inspired you at all, we would love to hear from you if you are planning to use any Shelfstore products. Please tweet us @Shelfstore and we would be happy to offer any practical advice you may need.
